Rewards and Benefits

You’ll find all the offerings you’d expect: comprehensive medical coverage, along with dental, life insurance and a retirement plan. But our benefits package also includes things you might not expect—like adoption assistance and tuition grants. Take a look:

Medical Coverage: You get the Blue Cross/Blue Shield national network of PPO providers along with three plan options. All three options offer the opportunity to earn wellness incentives through our Lifestyle Returns Wellness Program.

Prescription Drug Coverage: It’s automatic for employees that elect medical coverage and includes the extensive Highmark/MEDCO network of pharmacies.

Dental Coverage: We offer Basic and Premium Plan options to both full- and part-time employees through the United Concordia national network of providers.

Vision Coverage: United Healthcare’s Premium Plan is available to full- and part-time employees.

Life Insurance: EDMC provides basic coverage to full- and part-time employees for free. Additional coverage is available to full-time employees for themselves and their families at low group rates.

Disability Insurance: Full-time employees are eligible to receive Short-Term Disability—and may elect Long-Term Disability.

Flexible Spending Accounts: Full- and part-time employees can set aside some of their salary on a pretax basis to cover healthcare and daycare expenses.

Employee Assistance Program: Referral services for short-term counseling are available to all employees and their families, and we pay the entire premium.

Qualified Transportation Plan: Full- and part-time employees may contribute pre-tax funds to cover parking and mass transit expenses.

Retirement Plan: Full- and part-time employees can contribute up to 99% of eligible earnings on a pre-tax basis and we match a portion of your per pay contributions.

Adoption Assistance: Full-time employees with at least two years at EDMC and part-time employees with at least four can have some of their adoption expenses reimbursed.

Time Off: Full-time and part-time non-student employees receive generous time off benefits, including sick days, personal days and vacation which begins to accrue from your date of hire. In addition, full-time employees receive twelve paid holidays each year.

Tuition Assistance: Full- and part-time employees can become eligible to receive reimbursement for a portion of budgeted, pre-approved tuition and registration expenses. You and your immediate family can also become eligible for tuition grants.

Voluntary Benefits: A full menu of benefits are available for purchase, including auto and homeowner’s insurance, critical illness coverage, group accident insurance, identity theft coverage, legal services, interest-sensitive life insurance, long-term care insurance, even pet insurance.

Unless otherwise noted above, benefits become effective on the first of the month following 30 days of employment.
