Rewards and Benefits

You’ll find all the offerings you’d expect: comprehensive medical coverage, along with dental, life insurance and a retirement plan*. But our benefits package also includes things you might not expect—like adoption and tuition assistance*. Take a look:

Medical: You get the Aetna** national network of PPO providers along with three plan options. All three options offer the opportunity to earn wellness incentives through our Wellness Program.

Prescription Drug: It’s automatic for employees that elect medical coverage and includes the extensive Aetna** network of pharmacies.

Dental: We offer two dental plan options through the United Concordia** national network of providers.

Vision: One vision plan option is offered through United Healthcare Vision**.

Life Insurance: EDMC provides basic coverage to employees at no cost. Additional coverage is available at low group rates for employees and their eligible dependents.

Disability Insurance: Short-Term Disability coverage is provided by EDMC, and employees may elect Long-Term Disability coverage at low group rates.

Flexible Spending Accounts: Employees can set aside some of their salary on a pretax basis to cover healthcare and dependent care expenses.

Employee Assistance Program: Referral services for short-term counseling and other valuable resources are available to employees and members of their household at no cost.

Qualified Transportation Plan: Employees may contribute pre-tax funds to cover parking and mass transit expenses.

Retirement Plan: Employees can contribute up to 99% of eligible earnings on a pre-tax basis.

Adoption Assistance: Employees who meet service requirements can receive reimbursement of some of their qualified adoption expenses.

Paid Time Off (PTO): Employees receive a PTO bank to promote rest and relaxation away from work. In addition, employees receive thirteen paid holidays each year.

Family Medical Leave: EDMC is compliant with Family Medical Leave Act regulations and may provide eligible employees with a leave of absence to meet a variety of medical, family or personal needs.

Tuition Assistance: Eligible employees, and in some cases their family members, may receive tuition assistance to attend pre-approved educational courses of study.

Most benefits become effective on the first of the month following 30 calendar days of employment. Part-time employees are not eligible for all the benefits listed above. More detailed information will be provided upon employment.
