Vice President, IT Quality Assurance
Responsible for quality of enterprise technology solutions within EDMC for staff, faculty, and students. Responsible for managing the definition, implementation and integration of quality principles and quality processes into the design and development of software and IT processes. Ensures that quality methods and procedures are executed. Responsible for researching, developing, and implementing testing methods and procedures. Responsible for automation of quality and testing processes to achieve efficiency and effectiveness. Ensures that IT solutions meet the highest quality standards.
KEY JOB ELEMENTS
1. Develop and establish IT Quality Assurance office based on industry standard principles and processes – 30%
2. Management of the IT Quality Assurance policy, processes and procedures. – 20%
3. Management of IT Quality Assurance team including hiring, motivating, and retaining staff. – 30%
4. Management of assigned projects, either directly or through staff. – 10%
5. Management of automated testing tools, either directly or through staff. – 5%
6. Work with functional leaders to understand business processes and quality gaps. – 5%
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
Reports to: Chief Information Officer
Works closely with: IT Product Managers, IT management team, and CS business process owners.
POSITION SPECIFICATIONS
1. Masters degree in Computer Science or related area
2. 5+ years of experience in Information Technology management
3. 10+ years of experience in quality assurance
4. 10+ years of experience in software development
5. Excellent understanding of quality assurance principles and system development lifecycle
6. Excellent, proven analytical and problem solving skills
7. Excellent interpersonal skills
8. Excellent organizational skills
ACCOUNTABILITY
Direct: Management of quality assurance team of analysts and engineers
Communication with IT product managers and management team
Error-free technology deployments
Indirect: Customer satisfaction
ENVIRONMENT
Must work well as part of a team with minimal direct supervision.
Must have executive presence for constant interaction with business executives
