Regulatory Compliance Manager

This position requires the ability to travel up to fifty percent of the time. Responsible for evaluating operational compliance related to licensing and accreditation matters with respect to all of the Company’s educational institutions, including internal response and support. Coordinates with the Regulatory Affairs & Compliance Department and other EDMC departments regarding regulatory compliance and related audit efforts to enable full compliance with the Company’s applicable licensing and accreditation rules, regulations and standards. Requires the management and mentoring of staff members conducting site visits.

Incumbent must assure that the EDMC philosophy: quality services to clients; development, growth, involvement, and recognition of employees; sound economic principles; and environment which is conducive to innovation, positive thinking and expansion - is considered in carrying out the duties and responsibilities of this position.

Key Job Elements

1.Implement EDMC’s compliance program with respect to licensing and accreditation matters.

•Provides training on regulatory issues to school and central staff personnel in collaboration with other applicable staff from the Regulatory Affairs and Compliance Department.

•Monitors the level of compliance adherence at the campus level by evaluating compliance efforts and staff knowledge on an ongoing basis; takes necessary action to coordinate and oversee the correction of violations and deficiencies noted. This will be accomplished through research and site visits.

2.Implement and maintain EDMC’s compliance desk audit program as a supplement to the compliance support visit program.

3.Compiles regulator information, including new/amended laws, regulations and rulings for reference by senior management, the Compliance Committee and the Business Practices Committee. Coordinates efforts with the Vice President of Government Affairs.

4.Other related duties as necessary.

• Interacts with – Various members of the Regulatory Compliance and Accreditation teams, Internal Audit, Academics, Student Financial Services, and campus Executive Committees

Job Requirements

Knowledge:

a) A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience required.

b) Two years experience in a post-secondary environment in multi-state licensing and national/regional accreditation matters.

Skills:

a) Excellent communication skills, including experience in preparing written and oral reports.

b) Strong interpersonal skills with supervisor and staff populations.

c) Superior organization, prioritization, and self-motivation skills.

d) Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office products, including WORD, Excel, PowerPoint, and other software programs including Adobe Acrobat Pro.

Abilities:

a) Ability to interact effectively as a member of a team and work collaboratively with other departments.

b) Ability to listen to customers (e.g. staff, etc.) and to understand and respond positively to their requests.

c) Ability to adapt to changing assignments and multiple priorities.

d) Ability to manage multiple tasks and successfully meet deadlines.
