Senior Business Analyst - Student Support
Job Summary
This position will serve as the Senior Business Analyst supporting Student Support functions as part of the Shared Services group. The incumbent will work with our Student Support functions, including Financial Aid, Student Accounts and Registrar Operations to review, analyze, and evaluate business processes and user requirements to drive operational effectiveness, scalability, improved reporting, productivity and controls into EDMC’s Student Support functions.
Key Job Elements
1. Leads interaction with user department and end user groups to understand business needs and assist in developing system solutions to meet these needs. Serves as functional “project lead” on department specific initiatives.
2. Works across organizational boundaries and across business cycles to document and develop functional specifications and provide and coordinate support for the design, testing and maintenance. Translates concepts into written requirements documents.
3. Documents, analyzes and proposes new processes that increase scalability, efficiency, data accuracy and automation which match user requirements and adhere to the process reengineering framework. Ensures process solutions support evolving business strategies.
4. Evaluates test results with change requestors. Designs testing plan and manages testing plan execution.
5. Liaises with IT delivery teams to ensure business requirements are clear and complete, and works with IT to ensure effective implementation of automated solutions (i.e. through business-side testing, training and maintenance).
6. Develops and delivers training to application users on an on going basis.

• Reports to: Business Process Support Manager order to Cash

Job Requirements
Knowledge:
a) Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or Finance, or equivalent experience required. MBA or MIS preferred
b) Five to Ten years of solid experience in a similar role analyzing business needs.
c) Experience with CampusVue, or other Student Information Systems.
d) Certified Business Analyst Professional (CBAP) or Project Management Professional (PMP) a plus.
Skills:
a) Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
b) Strong interpersonal skills with employee and vendor contacts as well as proven direct client/user contact and presentation skills
c) Superior project management, organization, prioritization, problem solving and self-motivation skills.
d) Strong computer skills. MS Office Suite.
Abilities:
a) Ability to interact effectively as either a leader or as a member of a team and work collaboratively with other departments.
b) Ability to listen to customers (e.g. staff, etc.) and to understand and respond positively to their requests.
c) Ability to adapt to changing assignments and multiple priorities.
d) Ability to manage multiple tasks and successfully meet deadlines.
e) Ability to work independently without close supervision and manage priorities
