Assistant or Associate Professor, Clinical Psychology.
Clinical Psychology. This includes teaching foundation courses in assessment and/or interventions, and more specialized courses in the assessment and treatment of populations in the applicant’s area of expertise. Expertise in psychological assessment is a particular priority. Applicants with expertise in specialty areas, such as health psychology, forensic psychology, and child clinical psychology are also encouraged.
Scientific foundations. This area includes teaching basic courses in one or more of the following areas: cognitive psychology, social psychology, physiological psychology, developmental psychology, history and systems, as well as statistics and research methods. An applicant with a doctorate in an area other than clinical psychology would be considered for this position.
Multi-culturalism and clinical work with diverse populations. We are specifically seeking an individual who can teach courses, provide clinical supervision, and supervise student research in this area.
Core Faculty Duties and Responsibilities
• Teach five courses per year.
• Lead two practicum seminars or professionalization groups per year
• Administrative or training duties may be assigned in lieu of teaching
• Mentor the professional development of clinical psychology students
• Supervise doctoral level dissertation research
• Serve on departmental and university committees
• Perform other normal faculty duties as assigned by the Program Chair
• One day a week release time allowed to pursue professional development activities
Qualifications
• Doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology (other areas considered if teaching scientific foundations courses)
• APA-accredited degree program and internship preferred
• Licensed (or licensed eligible) as a psychologist in the state
