Program Chair - Clinical Psychology
The Program Chair - Clinical Psychology is an employee of Argosy University/Phoenix and is appointed to be the academic and administrative leader of the Clinical Psychology program. The Program Chair reports direclty to the campus VPAA, with additional interaction to the campus President and the University College Dean for the efficient and effective functioning of the program. The Program Chair is responsible for fulfilling all duties in conformity to the policies and procedures of AU as well as those processes and mechanisms developed within the campus in which the program is offered.
Key Job Elements:
• Lead the Clinical program faculty in the development, implementation, and oversight of the Clinical MA and PsyD degree programs. Chair is responsible for course scheduling.
• Assembling Self-Study documentations as appropriate for APA Re-Accreditation as agreed with the campus President, the University College Dean and University Vice President for National Partnerships and Clinical Education, including the writing of all necessary reports; pursue continued accreditation on the schedule determined by the accrediting body.
• Implement Faculty Program Governance as specified in the Faculty Supplement to the Employee Handbook, including the implementation of Program Advisory Boards.
• Recruit, supervise, and evaluate core and adjunct faculty.
• Conduct annual departmental reviews and demonstrate continued program improvement.
• Manage the learning outcomes process (e.g., CEC, CCE, etc.) in the Clinical Psychology programs.
• Oversight of field training in the Clinical Psychology Programs and responsible for increasing APPIC listed and APA-Accredited internship opportunities and appropriate practicum sites for Argosy students
• Grow programs as determined in yearly campus strategic plans
• Play an integral role in the student recruitment process
• Serve on the Campus Administrative Council and participate in the strategic planning and budgetary activities of the campus.
• Participate in the clinical psychology chairs meetings and actively contribute to the work of this group.
• Engage in public relations with regard to organizations impacted by the program; serve as liaison with the local professional community, colleges, and the public.
• Other duties as may be assigned by the VPAA.
Position Requirements:
• A minimum of 5-7 years of post-doctoral experience and licensed as a psychologist for clinical practice.
• Experience in the education and training of psychologists, preferably in an APA accredited clinical psychology program
• Evidence of management experience or potential
• Educational Requirements: PhD or PsyD in Clinical Psychology or ABPP if degree in another
