Program Chair, Clinical Psychology
Position Summary:
The Program Chair is a member of the faculty appointed to be the academic and administrative leader of a specific program (or programs) offered at a campus. The Program Chair is responsible to the campus Vice President for Academic Affairs and/or the Campus President, and the College Dean for the efficient and effective operation of their assigned program. The Program Chair is responsible for fulfilling all duties in conformity with the policies and procedures the University as well as those processes and mechanisms developed within the campus at which the program is offered.
Key Job Elements:
1. Lead the program faculty in the development, implementation, and oversight of the MA and PsyD Clinical Psychology programs as well as the Forensic Psychlogy program and other approved degree programs and non-degree continuing education including overseeing the ongoing delivery of courses.
2. Pursue initial programmatic accreditation as appropriate and as agreed with the campus President, the University College Dean and Associate Dean for Accreditation, including the writing of all necessary reports; pursue continued accreditation on the schedule determined by the accrediting body.
3. Recruit, supervise, and evaluate core and adjunct faculty.
4. Conduct annual departmental reviews and demonstrate continued program improvement.
5. Manage the learning outcomes process (e.g., CEC, CCE, etc.) in the Clinical Psychology programs.
6. Oversee field training in the Clinical Psychology Programs and increase APPIC listed and APA-Accredited internship opportunities and appropriate practicum sites for Argosy students.
7. Fulfill teaching load as determined by local campus VPAA, Dean or Campus President.
8. Grow programs as determined in yearly campus strategic plans.
9. Play an integral role in the student recruitment process.
10. Ensure that Clinical Research Projects and course outcomes are at appropriate levels of quality.
11. Serve on the Campus Administrative Council and participate in the strategic planning and budgetary activities of the campus.
12. Participate in the clinical psychology chairs meetings and actively contribute to the work of this group.
13. Engage in public relations with regard to organizations impacted by the program; serve as liaison with the local professional community, colleges, and the public.
14. Other duties as may be assigned by the College Dean or campus President.
Position Requirements:
• A minimum of 5-7 years of post-doctoral clinical experience and licensed as a psychologist for clinical practice.
• Experience in the education and training of psychologists, preferably in an APA accredited clinical psychology program, with APA accreditation experience.
• Evidence of management experience or potential.
• Educational Requirements: PhD or PsyD in Clinical Psychology.
• Other requirements specific to the discipline
• Experience with computerized administrative systems. Proficient with the use of standard office applications on personal computers.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret accreditation criteria, state agency regulations, and academic journals. Ability to resolve inquiries and complaints from employees, students, regulatory agencies, or members of the academic or business community. Ability to effectively present information to faculty, academic and campus leaders, corporate leaders, and public groups.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports to: Vice President for Academic Affairs or Campus President and the College Dean.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The individual must be able to travel out of the local area with an occasional overnight stay to participate in a variety of conferences and meetings.
